I am attempting to create a PDF from InDesign, and regardless of the options I select, the file stays the same size. I have tried to export as Interactive PDF at every preselected resolution, and every level of compression. I have also output the same file as PDF Print. No matter what I do, the size is the same. 4.4 Mb. After exporting I have gone into the PDF and optimized<reduced file size. No change.
Has anybody heard of such a thing? I am at a total loss as to how this is even possible. To me it sounds like a glitch.
What type of content does your file contain? Can you post screenshots?
One thing which would prevent much compression would be if you had a lot of intensive vector or CAD drawings (usually Illustrator files) placed.
This was going to be the first thing I tried when I came in today, and certainly enough the ganged up .eps embedded into the file as a background was the problem. Recreating that as a .pdf took my 4.4mb file down to 708k,
I'd hug you, but that would be weird. Thanks for the suggestion, sir. Next beer is on me.
