Let me know if this helps.
As I stated, I have tried unticking the "Use Graphics Processor" and restarting several times and trying different things.
I have just found something very interesting that occurred on the last update too.
I am using 2x GTX970 cards in SLi mode. When I have updated Lightroom, the SLi is now showing as "disabled" in the NVidia Control Panel. I have now enabled it - rebooted and it has improved LR.
I will continue testing it tonight and see if it has made it usable.
he has a GeForce GTX 970 and the latest drivers.
and yet the adviced solution is to disable the much hyped GPU feature... what a bad joke.
Yep, it's practically unusable now.
Off to find another bit of software that can do the job.
Well, I didn't want to roll back but I will if this can't be fixed as I've already lost a days work with this.
As this is vitally important to me, I am even prepared to go out and buy all new hardware to help with this. I have tried using a seperate internal HD for the LR cache, and a different one for the library. Is there anything that could be causing this? Anyone?
I have uploaded a very short video showing exactly what it is doing here: YouTube
I'm afraid you'll have to roll back if you need a quick solution and don't need any of the addition's in 6.2.
I have just quit the Adobe Creative Cloud App and it has stopped the intermittent hanging. I noticed that the Adobe CEF Helper (32 bit) was running x 2 in the Task Manager - I also noticed that sync was enabled and it was uploading 2 small files that I had in the Creative Cloud folder ( which I have since moved).
Wondering if this could be causing?
I have just bit the bullet and reinstalled the new LR CC with the latest update ( that has the crash and performance bug fixes ) and once again, it is totally unusable.
It just hangs and is totally unresponsive for a few seconds, usuable for 2 seconds and then back to the hanging again.
I am now in the process of reverting back to the older LR once again.
It seems the update did not fix my performance issue with LR.
Before you roll back, can you just try two things for me please? First, just try opening another catalog (create a new one if you only have the one) and then switch back to your normal one, and see if that helps. And secondly, if that doesn't help, if you can easily disconnect from the network, do so? There have been some reports of both solving the problem, and if it does work, it'd be a great clue on the cause.
Unfortunately, I'm way behind with work so had to roll back again this morning It definitely seems like it's accessing something and hangs while it does so.
I previously noticed that Adobe CEF Helper (32 bit) was running x 2 in the task manager and after disabling this, it seemed to stop the issue for a few minutes. Unfortunately, once I restarted, it was back and as I was so short on time, I had to uninstall and rollback.
No worries, thanks for posting back Simon. Hope you get caught up soon!
