Would suggest you to go under Lightroom preferences> General > disable the option "Show Add Photos screen"
and Preferences> Performance> disable the option to use graphics processor
then, relaunch Lightroom and test if it works well.
Direct support can be contacted through this link : Contact Customer Care
Do you mean disable the "Show splash screen during setup" radio button? I
don't see a "Show Add Photos screen". I've already disabled the "Use
Graphics Processor" feature, but I'll disable the Splash Screen one also
and see what happens. When I open the about Lightroom it says I'm using LR
6.1.1. I thought I had installed an upgrade to this earlier in the summer
that was supposed to help read the RAW files from the Sony a7RII. How do I
check to see if I'm using 6.1.1 or 6.2...?
If I follow the Contact Customer Care link to the end, it suggests that my
only option for assistance is using the adobe forum. There should really
be a way to access online support and have an ado be tech take remote
control of my computer to look at my settings to fix these problems. I
would gladly pay adobe to do this, but that doesn't seem to be an option!

To check for the Lightroom version, you can go under Help menu> system info.
To check for updates, go to Help menu> check for updates
Also, I have sent you a PM for further assistance if these steps do not help.
Thanks, but I think I'm going to un-install LR and start over with
something else. Somehow, in trying to rebuild my LR catalog, I've managed
to lose close to 3,000 photos and some entire folders are missing and are
no where to be found. Some folders appear to have been combined with other
named folders. It's almost like LR shuffle all of my photos when the
catalog became corrupted and un-repairable.
