Hi my hard disk is organised so that each subject, e.g. Le Mans 2006, is held in a separate folder, with a number of sub folders, such as negatives which hold my raw files which are never touched, to be processed, processed, top twenty etc. So I move my files between sub folders. When I try to do this in LR I get a warning message which seems to be saying that if I move the file I will loose the details of the non-destructive changes. If this is true then I can see LR adding to my workflow, not improving it. Is there a way of achieving a folder move within the catalogue without losing that data?
You will not loose any editing you have done on the Picture when you move the File. You can always undo any change to your image(non destructive Editing) from the History panel in the Develop module. The contents of your Raw file will not be touched.
The below Warning is just saying that Ctrl(Command)+Z will not undo. .It moves the File on the Original location too.(you can obviously move the File back to the Previous location)
Hope that helps
Thank you Akash, got it, it works just as I need, perfect
