    Does Adobe support H.265?

    jackandrys

Need to import video from a Samsung NX500 and they decided to use H.265 format for video, does anyone know if any of the Adobe video editing products support the format?

      Thanks for any info

          Hi Jack,

Adobe Premiere Elements (latest version and earlier) does not support h.265 so far. You may check Premiere Elements User Forum Premiere Elements for any possible workarounds/converters.

          Moving your post.

          Thanks

Your thread is currently in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum.

Your camera specifications include video codec and audio codec information

MP4 (Video HEVC H.265) and AAC.

The H.265 is not supported by Premiere Elements (any version)....already said by Andaleeb and confirmed by me.

For your Premiere Elements projects, I would suggest that you convert the H.265.mp4 video to H.264.mp4 using the free HandBrake program.

            https://handbrake.fr/

and then import the H.264.mp4 into the Premiere Elements project (if v11, 12, 13, 14 with Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets to Expert Timeline).

You did not say what computer operating system is involved nor what version of Premiere Elements you might have access to?

Please review, consider, and supply more details if interested.

            Thank you.
