I created a 60 pages document 297x297 mm - the graphics are quite complex
Now the client requires the booklet to be smaller (probably 210x210mm)
I've seen that there is no fast way to resize pages and content together keeping proportions and placement (I tried resizing the pages/master pages with the "Enable Layout Adjustment" both enabled and disabled but everything end up out of place)
Since I have a very short time to work on it I'm asking you if in your experience sending a bigger size document could cause problems in the printed output or not.
I'm sorry if the question could seem stupid but I don't want to have bad printed material.
Thank you very much,
Ask the printer about scaling.
But you can also export the original file to PDF, then use the script at InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Zanelli Releases MultiPageImporter for Importing both PDF and INDD Files to place and scale the pages into a new smaller file.
The second video on the page shows how to do this with InDesign's scale feature. However, that doesn't always work very well, in which case QuickResize should do the trick.
