Adobe says you have to place the catalog on the desktop instead of the folder pictures. It works but looks very unprofessional
Seriously?? If that's the solution, then Adobe has yet another bug to fix. What a ridiculous solution. Thanks for your reply. Hello, Adobe?? Are you going to address this problem as well as the others you've introduced with this 2.x "fix"?
Mac OS X 10.10.5 (not 10.5.5)
I also tried to solution that was provided in the first response. I created a dummy catalog in a folder on my desktop. Imported a few images, then exited. LR exited normally.
I then re-opened LR, opened my normal master catalog, then exited. LR exited normally. I don't know what is going on, but I do not believe it has anything to do with the location of the catalog.
I don't think it has anything to do with the location of the catalog on a Mac. I think I found the issue.
If my memory card is mounted (not ejected), when I exit LR, it hangs and I have to force quit. If the memory card ejected even while LR is running, it won't quit without a Force Quit. If I start LR with no memory cards mounted, LR will start and quit normally.
I know Adobe messed with the code on ejecting a card since they removed the option to eject after import. Something is messed up with that code.
I see the same problem. This happens even when there is no SD card used. Moving the catalog didn't help either.
Seems Adobe has to ship another emergency update!
A number of people have experienced this bug, as reported in this topic in the official Adobe feedback forum: Lightroom 2015.2:Hangs on quit. One fix that's worked for several people is to reset LR's preferences: Resetting the lightroom preferences file - updated - Lightroom Forums.
Please add your vote and details of your issue to that topic. That will help Adobe understand the problem and properly prioritize a fix, and by following the topic, you will be notified of any updates to the issue.
More generally, many of us recommend that you revert back to CC 2015.1.1 / 6.1.1: How do I roll back to Lightroom 2015.1.1 or Lightroom 6.1.1?. Wait for Adobe to clean up the mess with 2015.2 / 6.2 and let others do the beta testing.
Lightroom 6.3/CC 2015.3 is now available -- try updating to that version which includes the previous import functionality, bug fixes, and new camera/lens profile support: Lightroom CC 2015.3 / 6.3 now available
