How do I get my web (72dpi) design files to look best exporting from indesign Into PDF?

I'm working on a pdf of designs and so I want the images to look pixel perfect in an on screen pdf, but I'm getting a lot of loss issues in the export.

My images are placed (originally from photoshop 72dpi files). I've tried placing the images as png (no compression from photoshop), psd, and tiff, but none of them look right, and get oddly distorted when I zoom.  All the images are placed inside the containers at less than 100% (53%). I've tried exporting for print and for interactive pdf and getting rid of compression.

pdf at 125% (see how the middle line of text distorts)
