Thanks for your feedback! Can you share more about the workflow you are envisioning and what media you are using? For example -- media you shot on your mobile device? Or media that you have stored in Creative Cloud or Lightroom?
Thank you for getting back with me.
Here is the workflow I would like to achieve.
1. Create Low res Proxy files from source footage on desktop computer
2. Upload proxy files to Adobe Cloud (space permitting)
3. Complete rough cuts on Adobe Clip using above proxies
4. Send rough cut from Adobe clip to "edit with Adobe premiere"
5. Import the .xml file into Premiere 2014 CC or higher
6. Relink the proxy media with the original source media inside of Adobe Premiere Pro 2014 or Higher.
Issue: when sending Adobe clip sequence to Adobe premiere the media that is duplicated back to the cloud is renamed. The .xml file is then linked to the renaming of the source files.
I'm free to talk further via phone if necessary. Just let me know.
Any thought so far? at the studio we are planning to implement the same workflow.... but if you have to replace clips one by one it just doesn't worth the effort.
Thanks, Michael, for the detailed feature request! It has been noted by the team.
There is not a proxy workflow available in Premiere Clip currently, but the feature request has been noted by the team. That said, you can already use media from your Creative Cloud storage in your Premiere Clip projects, and the full res versions you bring in will be maintained when you send the edit to Premiere Pro.
Let us know if you have any questions or want support with your workflow, and please, keep the feature requests coming!
It's the same if one creates the Clip project from Lightroom Mobile. When you send the project to Premiere Pro, you might then want to use higher res originals than the 2048 pixel files in Lightroom Mobile, but you're forced to swap each image individually. So another vote for maintaining the original file names.
The thing is: our media folder for each project weights around 500Gb so It would be really nice to have such thing as a proxy workflow... this is the only thing missing in our dreamed workflow.
I really appreciate your help and interest in this matter.
Thanks, John! We were just thinking about wanting the hi-res images from Lightroom, too! Thanks for the feature request.
Thank you for the additional info, Efrain. The team has noted your request!
Hi Michael: I un-marked this discussion as a question since it is about a (really great) feature request.
Thanks for the update Bronwyn. Looking forward to this feature.
Any update on this? I am currently attempting to use the following workflow and have run into the same issue (files are renamed, instead of keeping original names):
1. Shoot on Sony a7s camera and record in dual format. i.e. two files are created for each recording, one low res and one HD 1080p.
2. Transfer low res clips to iPhone via wireless transfer (high res clips can not be transferred)
3. Edit in Premiere Clip
4. Export XML
5. Relink to 1080p files
The problem is, all file names are now different, so there's no way to relink without manually going through the entire project, identifying the original name of each clip, then renaming each clip in premiere, taking it offline, and finally linking to the intended 1080p file. This will be too time consuming, especially if just a small portion of a longer clip is used. For example, if it won second clip from a three minute recording is used, I could potentially have to watch many many clips in order to find that one second clip in the original. I hope this makes sense. Please, please implement this change. It would make premier clip at powerhouse for professional editing, as opposed to an app that's just simple and fun, but not usable for professional delivery.
Thanks for the great product and I hope to hear an update soon.
+1 Bump on this thread. 2 years later, what does that mean for this wish?
