My printer said I need to do the following:
Convert the images from RGB to CMYK.
The help instructions say to Choose Image > Mode > select the correct mode for cmyk.
I cannot find Mode or cmyk in any menu.
This is my first newsletter in InDesign so I am new to the tool. Also, the template I am using has been used for years so I am not sure why there is such an issue this version.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
That kind of mode change cannot be done directly in an InDesign document. You can convert the image files in Photoshop (that's where the Image > Mode command can be used)
Or you save set your PDF export to convert the files as the PDF is being generated.
The best and most versatile workflow is to leave you images in RGB when you place them in InDesign, and use the Adobe PDF Presets in InDesign to do the conversion to CMYK. Unless your printer specifies otherwise, select PDF/X-a and supply the PDF as separate pages (not spreads) and under Marks and Bleeds tick Use Document Bleed. Settings.
