A friend sent me a Catalog with photos to be processed in Lightroom.
Some people after the process they export the catalog again to by syncronized with the original RAW's.
But I know you also can save the xmp files and send it back. That wil be smaller.
I have been trying to figured out but I'm giving up. I can't find any way to save xmp without the original raw files.
Thank you for your time!
Smart previews are Adobe generated DNG files; so XMP is not applicable.
If both users have a set of proprietory originals (e.g. NEF or CR2 etc) you can simply exchange XMP's
Send back the catalogue, just the lrcat file. It'll not be big, it'll take less time for the other person, and all your work will be there - it isn't with xmp files.
