I want to send my printer PDF spreads for a 2-up saddle stitch document. The "print booklet" won't create a PDF file (WHY NOT????) so I create a PS file. File looks good in the preview window - it's landscape as it should be. The only PPD it will accept is "device independent" but does not seem to be a problem so far.
So hen I use Adobe PDF pack to create a PDF file from the PS. It creates a portrait orientation with sides cut off. There are absolutely no options when using PDF pack for specifying orientation.
This can't be so hard, even PageMaker could do it.
It's normal to send the printer the PDF as single pages for them to do the imposition (you select this in the Export Adobe PDF dialogue box) and tick Use Document Bleed Settings. If you haven't been given a PDF spec by the printer, I suggest, from the Acrobat PDF Presets, you select PDF/X-1a.
