Moving to light room
Do Help > System Info -- are you on LR CC 2015.2 or 2015.2.1? If so, then you are likely tripping over this bug, reported in the official Adobe feedback forum: Lightroom CC 2015.2 synchronize folder does not import new images unless show import dialog is active. To work around the bug, select "Show import dialog before importing" when you do the synchronize. Please add your vote and details of your issue to that bug report -- that will make it more likely Adobe will prioritize a fix.
Also, the correct terminology is "folder" -- a "file" is an individual document or photo, and a "folder" holds many "files". You're more likely to be correctly understood if you use the widely used terminology. (In the physical world, a "file" holds many documents; but as you know, computers have their own confusing terminology.)
For workflow I am creating jpeg images as an export from Master tiff images and placing them in a separate file titled "Output."
. If I go ahead and ask lightroom to sync the catalog it states there are no new images.
If the Output Folder is a Subfolder inside another Folder. Please try the solution below
- Enable the 'Show import dialog before importing' option during folder synchronization, and select subfolders to synchronize from the Subfolders menu in the Import dialog
