I have old documents that, as our markets expand, need to be translated. Several are in PageMaker. We set up a backup computer with both PageMaker and an early InDesign but InDesign CS2 is saying that the file is damaged or that I am missing too many plugins. The file opens perfectly in PageMaker. I will have 5-6 of these docs that need to be translated and moved into InDesign. Would really love to not have to recreate them!! I tried opening them with the current InDesign CC but it doesn't even "see" the old doc. Any suggestions would be most helpful!
CS6 is the latest version that will open PM files and it is included with your CC subscription.
CS2’s PM capability was destroyed with XP SP3 and anything later so install CS6 and you should be okay.
Thank you! I converted lots of docs when we first went to InDesign (Love It!!) Hadn't worked in PageMaker in years. We thought that the older the InDesign would work best with the last version of PageMaker. Thank you so much Bob. I will pass this on to my IT department and give it a whirl!
