Since upgrading to W10, prem10 fails to recognise burner

    skyrunner355 Level 1

I have been using W7 for many years, along with Prem 10, and just the odd issue. However just upgraded to W10, and prepared a couple of projects, one now waiting to "burn". Prem10 fails to recognise the burner, (which hasn't been changed) neither does Bluray, but selecting AVCHD it does now recognise the burner, but my dvd player isn't compatible, so don't wish to use this setting. Never had this issue previously.

Burner details from the AVCHD are D TSSTcorpDVDWBD SH-B123L is this is of interest. ,

I selected DVD, and burnt to a selected documents file, and burnt using Nero from this.

Any suggestions please, as would rather burn direct from Prem10, rather than burning to file and then burning from a file, eg two separate stages?

Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 10 64 bit. What video card/graphics card does your computer use?

Let us go through the usual routine....do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer along with Premiere Elements 10, and are you running the programs from a user account with administrative privileges. Apple has a problem with QuickTime latest version 7.7.8 and Windows 10. Until Apple works through its problems on that, please download and install QuickTime 7.7.6 for your Windows 10 64 bit computer. That 7.7.6 will meet the Premiere Elements QuickTime 7 requirement even though it is not actually the latest version of QuickTime 7.  QuickTime 7.7.6 for Windows

You should go for uninstall reinstall following this scenario...

          1. Uninstall the program the usual control panel way

          2. Do a free ccleaner run through (regular and registry cleaner parts)  CCleaner - Download

          3. Reinstall the program with antivirus and firewalls disabled.

The burner not recognized or media not present are two of the most difficult issues to resolve. But, the uninstall/ccleaner/reinstall with antivirus and firewalls disabled has worked for several. Let us see if it will work for you.

We will be watching for your progress in the morning morning.

                Morning ATR.

Thanks for this reply, will check later though.

I have to make contact with my local IT specialists, on Monday morning, as have an issue on my W10, which basically has made three identical folders with all my pictures in each, one in "pictures" "video".and "music" but can't delete any files without all going into recycling bin. This is rather more urgent, so will contact you once I have my tower back in regards the prem10 issue.

                  Thanks for your patience.

                  Thanks for the update.

I went through the Windows 10 64 bit install on two of my computers, one was Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and the other Windows 8.1 64 bit.

I never did get the reserved Windows 10 that the Microsoft said would come in days/weeks. So I installed from an online Microsoft web site.

My pc is away from tomorrow, for those various W10 issues I have which is more important than my prem 10 issue, so once I have pc returned, I’ll contact you again please.
