Flash file works fine as an .swf on desktop but falls down when published as an .apk

My flash file works fine as an SWF on desktop but falls down when published as an apk. When I run the app, the start menu shows up as it should, however the start button doesn't work. The annoying thing is that the credits button works just fine... I am also getting an error warning that says, ""Warning: Library path "$(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/libs/11.0/textLayout.swc" does not resolve to a valid file." I was told that perhaps I hadn't clicked "merge into code" but after trying it, it didn't seem to change anything. Anybody have any ideas?

Below are the files I'm using.

QuipQuiz for Android.apk - Google Drive

QuipQuiz for Android.swf - Google Drive

      ActiveQuizCS4.fla - Google Drive

Any help that anybody can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Note: just realized I'm also getting a separate warning upon publishing that says: "Warning: Application has not specified its permission requirements in application.xml"
