I mucked things up royally...
to start with I am using LR 3...not 6. huge mistake on my part, now I look like the idiot i am.
been having tons of website problems and my head is clouded from no sleep.
Do I need to repost asking for help with LR3.... problem now is when I go to export and tell it Hard Drive...
I do not see my hard drives just a few folders that I have never used...and I have no clue as to how to get the HDD's to show up in the dialogue box.
I am truly sorry for this muck up.
Follow the Location to reset the Preferences for Lightroom 3
Mac: The preferences file is the com.adobe.Lightroom3.plist file, located in [user name]/Library/Preferences.
Windows: The preferences file is Lightroom 3 Preferences.agprefs, located in Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom/Preferences
Rename the file to " com.adobe.Lightroom3.plist file to com.adobe.Lightroom3.plist file.old " Or " Lightroom 3 Preferences.agprefs to Lightroom 3 Preferences.agprefs.old"
Open Lightroom and try using it.
This is something to do with the Explorer Service on the Windows machine.
When you do the Import in Lightroom, does it give the option to select some images from there..?
I JUST did a complete uninstall and re-install and LR3.6 still shows no signs of a path to any of my 4 hard drives when exporting....
This is darned frustrating. I have not found a solution in Kelbys book either
From the screen capture that you have shown this is a Windows error/bug not a Lightroom issue (And the Adobe Staff member already indicated)
If you try to do a File/SaveAs in other programs you will most likely find you have the same issue.
From a quick Google search this Windows bug has reared it's head in the past because the user has had too many icons on their desktop.
Try cleaning off any extra icons/shortcuts off your desktop then try again.
Otherwise it may be a corrupt Windows user profile. Login as a different user and retry Lightroom.
If that works you will need to repair your Windows profile for the original user or create a new profile.
Do a Google search for more info on all of this / try a Windows support forum.
Hello bhousto90 ..
. what exactluy did you google or please post a link to the google search....
all mine are bringing to the same results that brought me here.
OK... It seems to be working...if you look at my 1st screen shot and see all the folders that are dropped down...
with my Name Highlighted I click on DELETE... and I got everything that should have been there in the first place, as seen in this last screenshot.
so still no idea what went awry...but hope I remember this if it happens again....been using LR since its birth and never had this type of problem...
THANKS TO ALL WHO TRIED TO HELP.... Guess the case is now closed.
