Nevermind. Found a way through Dropbox.
Originally the folder was placed in Dropbox and i thought Dropbox copied the folder so when i deleted it from Dropbox on my computer it deleted the folder and i lost it.
I was able to login to Dropbox and they have a restore feature for deleted items.
I bet that scary moment will make you think twice when you say to yourself, "Aaah, I don't need to back this stuff up."
I think you were the same person i just replied to on the last discussion.
I do have backups. I am really good with backups actually. Carbon Copy Cloner works great. Just the mistake of emptying the trash before the backups are done weekly.
It was more of me not understanding how Dropbox works which i normally don't use. I thought it copied the folder to Dropbox so when i worked on the files at home and didnt like what i was working on, i just deleted the folder.
Then back at work today and my local file was gone because it did not copy to Dropbox.
But luckily Dropbox has the ability to restore deleted folders.
Got lucky i guess, but like i said not too big of a project. But lesson learned.
The most powerful tool for data recovery is Easeus. If you need free tool, try Disk Drill. I've recovered After Effects Project on my iMac using Disk Drill for Mac, so I think Windows version can do the same on your Windows PC.
