Windows 7 x64
8 GB of Ram.
The thread count was around 1800. so it appears that some threads never end.
Updated to 6.2.1 and currently testing.
Will update after an hour.
Just running lightroom 6.2.1 for 5 min.
Why is my thread count increasing every 2 seconds with 2 threads?
seriously? you need 2 threads to count seconds? I am not doing anything with lightroom at the moment the system just sits there.
with this rate, 16 GB of Ram will only buy me more time.
Do you have the GPU acceleration activated? If yes, try to turn it off: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html
Also, please turn off the parts of the new Import:
- Go to Lightroom > Preferences.
- Click on the General tab
- Uncheck “Show ‘Add Photos’ Screen”
- Restart Lightroom
If nothing helps please roll back to 6.1.1: Instructions to roll back to a prior update version
Running for about 30 min.
Lightroom is using 1068 thread. (about 6.8 times that the windows kernel does)
I will try this.
Just for keeping record of data, current thread count is 2058.
With the GPU acceleration off some times threads get killed.
(this is actually my reason for buying a new version)
Uncheck “Show ‘Add Photos’ Screen” makes a HHHHHHUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEE difference.
Turned the GPU back on again so see if there is any difference in thread counts.
Currently running at 55 thread!!!!!!
So there seems to be a resource leak in the “Show ‘Add Photos’ Screen” section.
