May i know is there any error message coming up when you try to load the program.
I get a message: Lightroom quit unexpectedly.
I am also seeing this message. There also seemed to be something wrong with Creative Cloud, as I was given the option to start my 30-day free trial (I subscribe to the Photography bundle). I went through all of that, reinstalled the application, and still same error message.
Running latest version of Lightroom and OS X El Capitan 10.11
Note: Photoshop loads fine.
Try resetting the preferences of the Lightroom
To reset your preferences, do the following:
- Quit Lightroom.
- Navigate to the preferences file:
- Mac OS: /Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Lightroom6.plist
- Drag the preferences file to the desktop
Important (Mac OS): The user Library file is hidden by default on Mac OS X 10.7 and later. For temporary access to the user Library file, press Option and choose Go > Library in the Finder.
That seems to work, although I had to do it twice...
After resetting preferences, I successfully opened LR, and then quit the application.
The next attempt to open LR resulted in the message "Lightroom Unexpectedly Quit".
I reset preferences a second time, and now LR seems to be opening each time it's called.
Thanks for your assistance!
