Do you have a backup? Dumb answer, but it's the first thing that popped into my mind. Maybe someone else will have a better answer...
Unfortunately I haven't backed up the catalog in almost a week
I was hoping to find a way to recover the work I've done since then as well as the older stuff
Could you please make sure that are working with the same catalog?
In Lightroom go to File>>Open Recent and open other catalogs listed to conform this.
Or you can Start a search on your Computer with " *Lrcat" and then open the catalogs in result one by one
That was one of my first thoughts as well, but all of the other recent files were still there
I did check anyway to be safe but it's definitely the same catalog
Thanks for the update
Returned to my computer about a half hour later and the "2015" folder and all sub-folders, with all of the images and previews was completely gone from Lightroom
The source folders had not been moved, they just aren't in Lightroom anymore
Its very strange to happen.
Where is the 2015 Folder located?(on External drive or Primary drive)
Just look under other Folders it might be moved within Lightroom (by mistake)
There are copies on both the primary and an external drive, but the one being used by Lightroom was on the primary drive. The folders themselves haven't been moved and are still where they were before they disappeared from Lightroom. Unfortunately it's not in any of the other folders either, all of the images that were in the 2015 folder and it's subfolders are completely gone from Lightroom. Instead of showing up as "missing," they're simply not there.
Do you see the 2015 folder on External/Primary disk
try Synchronizing the Parent Folder (With "Show import Dialog before importing)
Then see if you can import the 2015 Folder again
Yes, I'm able to do that and re-import the original files
I was wondering if there was a way to recover the work I'd done on them before they disappeared without having to re-import them and start from scratch
