Add the QR codes as another field to the CSV file...
I've never used ID's QR Code generator, but it looks like it uses a separate dialog so you'd want to generate the images first and use the path to each image in the data file.
Many thanks, Colin.
The article mention that one attribute, e.g. email address, is used to create QR code. Do you have any idea if multiple attributes, e.g. Surname, Lastname, email address, are used to generate the QR code?
Yes, you can do this but as the article states:
It is also of note that there are several ways to write the code for contact information. While the Adobe Help page suggests using the VCARD method, the MECARD and BUSCARD methods also work.
That means if you want your QR code to be a "catch-all" that encompasses name, address, phone etc like a business card, you would have to use either VCARD, MECARD or BUSCARD at the start of each line that was to be the QR code. It also involves a lot of concatenation of the previous fields into the QR code field, and that is explained in the article.
I think the best advice would be to try and create one record first using excel formulas to concatenate the data elsewhere from the database into a new cell, attempt to merge to 1 QR code and then use a page such as https://webqr.com/ to see if the code is working or not. It will be some trial and error, and as I said in my article:
This said, it means that QR codes are not applied the way most users would imagine.
