Ridiculous. I just chatted with an Adobe rep about the fact that the file names no longer show up with the thumbnails when importing to find your file. The rep says to hover over each one to get the name..are you kidding me...if you're looking at 100+ files, it would take 15-20 minutes to find a single file vs. before this design change, when you could look at them all and easily find the file name in 2 seconds. Rep claims there is no way to do it with the new design. WTF, do they actually try using their own product!!?
Adobe has said they "will restore the previous import experience", but they "are still working on details and timing". Until we know those details, it's important to continue providing detailed feedback on how you use the features that were removed by LR CC 2015.2 / 6.2. So please add your vote and details to this topic in the official Adobe feedback forum: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/new-update-6-2
Meanwhile, as a less-convenient workaround, you could use the Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer to find the files you want to import and then drag and drop them onto LR. Or you could do as many, many users have done and roll back to LR CC 2015.1.1 / 6.1.1: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-roll-back-to-lightroom-2015-1-1-or-lightroom-6-1-1/
