I have the same problem. Any suggestion please.
Could you post your question on the Flex Builder forum; people familiar with Flex Builder can help you there. I installed a 3rd party memory manager for Eclipse and that seems to keep memory free. This is not a "Flex" problem, it has to do with how Eclipse manages its memory.

Peter, which 3rd party plug-in is it?
I feel uncomfortable recommending one company's products over another, but if you do a web search for "Eclipse memory monitor" or something like that you'll get a list.
I had the same issue back about a month ago ... then I, and my coworker ran over our code again, we had XMLLists set up to be populated from XML docs we had for our application. We found that the application when compiling would actually compile the eintire XML doc (and ours got rather lengthy) eventually slowing down Flex and using all available memory on our computers. we started using HTTPService calls and it cleared our problem up. No longer would it try to compile the eintire XML doc ...
Also try and not keep several projects open in the project viewer at one time... I close out of old projects and usually only have one maybe two open at a time and find it runs smoother
