Which version of the program are you using and on what operating system?
Timeline bugginess like this has been resolved in version 14.
I have not observed a characteristic bugginess for versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 14. So, I cannot support that any such issue has been resolved in version 14.
Is your current issue "it worked before but now" or "it never worked before"? As already asked, what version of Premiere Elements and what computer environment. Please give more details on the nature of the project in which your issue occurs. Is the issue for all projects or just one at the present time?
I'm using version 13.
The problem happens from time to time.
I cannot find the trigger.
I'm using version 13 in iMac 27".
The problem occurs occasionally in a same project.
I cannot find a situation sets the problem on.
As I've said, I encountered this often with versions 11, 12 and 13 on a Mac. It has been fixed though in version 14, for what it is worth.
I don't know that ATR has done any tests on a Mac, but I can assure you that it's been a commonly experienced bug.
Thank you for your replies with additional information about your auto-scrolling Timeline when the cursor is in the Project Assets window....especially the detail of working on a Mac computer.
I am strictly an Elements Windows user, and I have not experienced this specific issue using Premiere Elements Windows versions at least 4 and going through 14.
The frequent Premiere Elements Mac Timeline issue that I have seen in the past is Timeline Zooming issue.Expert view timeline zooms in when dragging clips | MacBook Pro, retina display
I do not recall seeing the specific Mac issue that you described in these forums as part of a Windows or Mac computer environment.
Since your problem seems to be occurring occasionally, it is harder to troubleshoot it other than to compare the environmental conditions with and without the issue. Is there any mouse scroll wheel involved in any of this issue? Any opportunity to work with another mouse? What kind of mouse do you use - USB, wireless?
Problems with the same symptoms can (often do) have different causes.
We will watch for your progress as your time permits.
