I see the edits in Photoshop, but when I return to LR, the original LR edits are gone. I using edit original because I want to preserve the laters in PS.

i did another test and the LR adjustments are not there after I return to LR, however I do see the adjustments in history. I can grab them, that could be a workaround I suppose. when I return to LR should I see the previous LR adjustments? I did find this post..Lightroom edits not showing up after edit original photoshop return to LR. - Lightroom Forums
and I do have different ACR versions.
1. Edit an Original RAW file in Photoshop opens a new pixel image ( .tiff or .psd ) without any LR edits.
2. Edit "with Lightroom edits" opens a new pixel image (.tiff .psd) with the LR edits preserved in the new file.
3. Edit an Original ,psd or .tiff file in Photoshop (ie. re-open a Photoshop file) opens in Photoshop exactly as you saved it.
***One problem!! If you edit a .psd or .tiff file in Lightroom then re-open in Photoshop, then Lightroom flattens the image and previous Photoshop editing (layers, etc) is all GONE!
Suggest you do all lightroom editing first then go to Photoshop to finish. Consider a .pdf/.tiff your 'final' edit.
Create virtual copies if you want to do further editing in Lightroom using the Photoshop edits.
Big Hint- Open images by "Open as Smart Object in Photoshop" Then you have the option to re-open the Photoshop (Back-ground) layer (Smart Object) in ACR for further raw adjustment. It uses the ACR version linked to Photoshop (not Lightroom)
