- Go to Lightroom > Preferences.
- Click on the General tab
- Uncheck “Show ‘Add Photos’ Screen”Restart Lightroom
- Now try to import the images in Lightroom and see if you are able to see the images.
I did as you suggested but then, when I select Import, the only source I can see is the SD card reader.
With 'Show "Add Photos" screen' unchecked, I don't have an option to Browse Computer.
So, I checked that option again, restarted LR and still no image files are visible - please see screenshot.
The option for Browse Computer, will ask you to select a Folder.
In case you want to select a particular folder , then please select it from the Left Hand panel.
Doh! All I had to do was click on the Select button. How embarrassing
Thanks for your help.
You are Welcome, Glad to help.
I hate this new Import dialog, by the way, and can't wait for the promised update which I've read allows users to revert to the old version...
[I tried to add this line to my earlier reply and it wouldn't Save - so I had to sign in again]
The new update will be released quite soon.
At first, when I unchecked the 'Show "Add Photos" screen', restarted Lightroom, then started the Import dialog again,
I was presented with a screen full of thumbnail images on the SD card that was still inserted in the card reader.
I couldn't see any way to access the other data sources held on my PC - there wasn't a 'Browse Computer' button on view.
Of course, once you know it's there, the functionality returns!
A badly designed user interface is one where features are invisible, only to be revealed by accident.
