Could you please confirm the version of Lightroom that you are using?
Which operating system: Mac or Windows?
You can use the backed up catalog if you did a backup recently.
Also, launch Lightroom with the control/command key pressed and choose the option to create a new catalog.
Then, go to file> import from another catalog > choose your main catalog> proceed to import.

Did just Lightroom shut down or your whole computer? Probably have to use you most recent backup catalog.
I have Lightroom 3 and am opporating on Windows, but we haven't updated
to 10.0 yet.
Just Lightroom. It said that it encountered an error and needed to
shut down... I don't have a backup that includes this most recent
job. I'm so sick to my stomach!
Did you try to create a new catalog and choose to Import from that catalog?
I did, it gave me an error message saying that it couldn't complete the task for an "unknown reason."
