    livinginsd1

I just purchased and installed light room. I keep getting a no internet connection message when trying to validate. I have internet on the computer it was installed on. I'm writing on it now.

I don't know what to do.

      Any ideas?

          Hi livinginsd,

Could you please confirm the version of Lightroom and your operating system : windows or mac?

Would suggest you to look for Adobe entries in the hosts file and remove them, if found any.

          Windows

          1. Choose Start > Run, type drivers and then press Enter.
          2. Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
          3. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
          4. Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
          5. Save and close the file.

Mac OSLog in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.

          1. In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
          2. Type /etc.
          3. Select the hosts file and open it.
          4. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
          5. Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
          6. Save and close the file.
