    "Whites slider" question

    Paul_B_GB Level 1

Most of my knowledge about Lightroom has been accumulated by experimentation, not from reading manuals (i hate reading manuals, lol).

I've noticed that the exposure slider mainly affects the mid-tones, and that the whites slider affects the high tones more than any other.

Is it a correct assumption by me that the whites slider's purpose is to separate the mid tones from the high tones after squashing them together after using the exposure slider?

If that's true, then that brings me on to my question:  If i have Raw files that don't need any exposure correction, does that then mean that they won't need a white slider adjustment either, or do Raw files need the whites boosting whether they have had any exposure adjustment applied to them or not?
