What happens when you try?
What computer operating system is involved for your Premiere Elements 11 project file and your Premiere Elements 14 program?
What you do is this....
1. Premiere Elements 14 installed on your computer. Closed.
2. Go to the Premiere Elements 11 project file on your computer, right click it and select Open With, followed by Adobe Premiere Elements 14...and the Premiere Elements 11 project files opens to the Premiere Elements 14 workspace.
Now that is the ideal situation. But, there are some ifs along the way.
1. Is the Premiere Elements 11 project file still tracing back to its source media where it was when first imported into the 11 project?
2.There is no guarantee that a project file created in an earlier version can be opened in a later version.
Since there is no backward compatibility for these projects, best work from a copy of the 11 project file when you try to open it in 14.
Is all this work (11 and 14) going on using the same computer? Or is computer to computer activity involved?
The typical advice is to complete a project in the version in which it was created. Just in case mention...you cannot open a Premiere Elements 11 Mac project file in Premiere Elements 14 Windows, nor can you open Premiere Elements 11 Windows project file in Premiere Elements 14 Mac.
Please consider. Any problems along the way, please do not hesitate to stop and ask for clarification, giving the details of your progress.
It worked perfectly when I right clicked on the wile...open with.
Great news. Well done getting your Premiere Elements 11 project to open in Premiere Elements 14.
Glad that worked for you. We appreciated that you took the time to let us know the outcome.
Best wishes with your Premiere Elements projects.
