I believe Illustrator can export to swf using the save for web function.
That should come into Director nicely.
Mike - Thanks for the speedy reply I'll try it now. One question - will I be able to print the swf as a cast member in its original size via Printomatic? Some of the drawings run across 4 A4 pages
Never tried, but I expect it should work. Give it a try and see.
Tried it - Printomatic cannot print a flash member. Is there any other form of vector that can be imported into Director? Or possibley a third party xtra to import them?
For printing Flash members have you looked in to using sprite(n).print()
I'm not sure - I need to print a member that never appears on stage - will it still work?
I'm going to bump this since I have the same question...Is there another way to import vector files besides as a swf? Thanks!

I've used Darrel's PS2VS tool recently (with MX2004). had to download
another Xtra to work with it. Managed to get it converting old Illustrator
files to Director Vector Shapes. My shapes were relatively simple. But
still is a useful tool.
