Thank you for responding...
I called Tech Support and was told to keep all working files and elements of said document local on my desktop as it was the link to the server that was creating the crashes. So I did that (even though I have been successfully working with files residing on our networked storage for over five months with no problem until last Thursday) but it is STILL creating corrupt files and making corrupt pdfs that I need to send to our commercial digital printers.
I am starting to take pics of all of the error windows so far, I am sure there are and will be more but: EC-5, EC-109, and 8058.
This is a brand new imac with over 900 GBs of storage available and I am getting "Cannot perform this operation because there is not enough room" messages.
The only thing I can connect is that last week I tried a flattener preset and printed to a .ps file and this "buggy" stuff started happening after that. I have NO idea how that would affect subsequent work but everything was working just fine before that.
I hate not knowing what is happening or what I did to cause this but I need to have this working, as we all who are paying for the service would. It is my livelihood.
Start by going to System Preferences > General and turning off Auto Show/Hide Menus.
If that doesn't do it, restore your InDesign preferences:
