You can either go for standalone Lightroom 6 (one time purchase) or the Photography subscription plan which includes Lightroom and Photoshop.
Both would include the ability to import from Aperture/iPhoto but not iPhoto.
If I opted for the standalone software with no subscription have you any idea how long this software would be supported? Would it be supported at all? I might upgrade every couple of years or so, but isn't all Abode software subscription based now? Maybe not...
It would be supported until the next upgrade(version) comes out but all the new updates would not be included in the standalone program.
All updates are included in the subscription plans.
Thanks again, Chetna.
I'm thinking of using Lr as a full time photo browser. So, if I putcahased the stand alone software as opposed to paying a monthly subscription - I might not have access to all updates in the future without upgrading, but I'd never be locked out program, right? I'd always be able to use the software... I just wouldn't have access to future/new content, right?
Yes, that is absolutely right.
You would always have the access to the program.
