I can't open Lightroom CC on my iMac. I've never had any difficulty before. I'm working on El Capitan operating system.
Need lots of details.
What are you trying?
What error messages are you getting?
I was not getting any errors at all. The app is just simply unresponsive. I'm trying now to download it again as I get nothing. It repeatedly suggested I "force quite", but its not even showing as open. I can open photoshop CC no problem, but LR is just not working at all. I tried my old LR 5 app also and had no luck. I just restarted my computer again and am trying everything again.
When I go to the CC control panel, it just says, "Conflict Installing LR CC - Please save your work and close the following programs, then press, Continue". But LR isn't open! And I've force quit it every time I've tried to open it - even though it doesn't open at all. It just bounces in the dock for a while and then stops.
- Quit Lightroom.
- Navigate to the location of the catalog.
- Move the catalog to a different location(e.g. Desktop)
Now Lightroom will not be able to find the catalog and will ask you to create a new catalog>
- Create a new catalog and import few images
- Quit Lightroom to check for the issue.
If working fine, Use Import from another catalog to import the images from the previous catalog.
Actually, what happened was that my computer stopped reading my external drive with all of my LR files on it. I still don't know why. I had to shut everything down, unplug my external drives, check the one with the LR files on it on my laptop, then reconnect it to my iMac. After I opened LR and got the catalog up and made sure I had access to my raw files, I reconnected the time machine drive which was the one that the computer was reading before. It worked. But I still don't know why. I just ordered two new external drives today in case its a bad drive.
