Previewing After Effects presets in Bridge not working

    InderpendentSchoolsVic

      Hardware

      iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012)

Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5

      Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB

      Applications and versions

      • Mac OS X 10.10.5 and OS X 10.11
      • Adobe Bridge version 6.1.1.10
      • Adobe After Effects version 2015.0.1 version 13.5.1.48

      Issue outline

When I use Bridge to browse to an After Effects preset and click on it, the Bridge application becomes unresponsive, and the preview window shows no preview. The preview window most often remains grey, but sometimes I'll see a black box where the preview animation should be, and sometimes I see the controls for the animation, but the animation doesn't play.

      How to repeat the issue

      1. Open Bridge
      2. Open 'Applications' folder
      3. Open 'Adobe Effects 2015 CC' folder
      4. Open 'Presets' folder
      5. Open 'Backgrounds'
      6. Click on a preset

      Steps taken to resolve

      1. Downloaded and installed a clean version of OS X 10.10.5 and installed a clean version of Adobe CC 2015 and found results are the same
      2. Downloaded and installed a clean version of OS X 10.11 and installed a clean version of Adobe CC 2015 and found results are the same
      3. Tried to use software rendering but this made no difference
      4. Tried to clear Bridge cache but this made no difference

      Observations

I have found that most of the time, if I open Bridge and experience the issue I can 'Force Quit' the application, then open 'Activity Monitor' and 'Force Quit' a process named 'dynamiclinkmanager', then re-open Bridge and find that the previews play successfully.
