Welcome to this InDesign forum. Note, we're not Adobe, but users, like yourself.
Have you updated InDesign to CC2015.1?
Re your issue, try trashing your Preferences : Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences
Thank you for the response.
I am on the article now and I'm not sure what to delete out of that first roaming folder and then the Local folder. the file named "InDesign Defaults" is listed but not the file "InDesign Saved Data"
Also I have a version 10 folder and also a version 11 folder. Is that normal? Do I delete the version 10 folder as if it may be conflicting?
Ok, I'm sorry. I found both of the files "saved data" and "defaults" and I deleted them both from the version 10 folder and the version 11 folder. But InDesign still prompts the same problem. Any Ideas??
Does it work if you start Windows in Safe Mode? How about if you log into Windows using a new user account?
Thank you for your immediate response. I made a new user account and this option did work! The safe mode option did not work.
Is there a way I can clear my normal user administrator account to work again?
Can anybody tell me how to clear my normal account to work again so I don't have to log into another account to use InDesign?
Thanks for the help.
You can reset the preferences for InDesign CC 2015. InDesign CC 2015 is version 11.0.
Here is a path for resetting the preferences for InDesign CC 2015:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign- Remove Version 11.0
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign - Remove Version 11.0
After following these steps please download 2 files from given link:
you have to click on download and select VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe and VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe.
Once both files are downloaded then run them one by one and select the repair option.
when you repair both files then restart the computer and try to launch InDesign and share the result.
please share the logs with us that got created in event viewer for InDesign Application.
