Please follow the below steps.
> Launch Bridge
> Click on Edit > Camera Raw Preferences(In Windows)
Bridge > Camera Raw Preferences(In Mac)
> Select Ignore Sidecar “.XMP” Files in the DNG File Handling section. This will store all adjustments to DNG files in the DNG files themselves.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for your help, I checked the box and that got rid of the xmp files but that also got rid of the icons that tells me the images have been modified in camera raw. Tim

XMP files store the adjustments and other metadata you’ve modified in Bridge and Camera Raw. Don’t delete them otherwise you’re files are reset back to defaults. I don’t think this is what you intend and is why the Modified indicator is disappearing.
All you need to do is uncheck the option in Bridge / View / Show Hidden Files and those XMP files won’t be visible in Bridge’s grid.
Mrinmay’s advice to ignore XMP files in the DNG File Handling section only deals with converting native raw files to DNGs, which isn’t something you’re doing, I don’t think, so has no bearing on the situation. You should uncheck that option Mrinmay asked you to enable in case you ever do want to convert to DNGs and want your settings to be applied.
