1. Re: NIKE.COM - HOW DID THEY DO THAT?
Nickels55 Nov 17, 2006 8:52 AM (in response to epic306)My best guess is that they did everything in After Effects or another video editing program. I think that is one whole flv with the reflection and the main image all combined. The code is too complex to get directly to the swf file to figure it out. -

epic306 Nov 17, 2006 9:23 AM (in response to epic306)Yeah, I was thinking it might be one flv too, by looking at the redraw regions it looks like it may be one flv. When you say "the code is too complex to figure out" are you decompiling the swf to look at the code?
Do you know if it Increases bandwidth to play the same flv in flash at the same time. -

Newsgroup_User Nov 17, 2006 9:25 AM (in response to epic306)Nickels,
You're right, if you grab the flv from your cache you'll see the video and
it's reflection as one FLV.
Epic,
I tried doing reflections by putting the FLV in a mc then duplicating it,
mirror, blur, alpha it. In theory it's possible, but practically on slow
computers it was a nightmare to render the graphics.

epic306 Nov 17, 2006 9:53 AM (in response to epic306)Jose Guevara,
How do I grab it from my cache? I'm on a PC.
I went to:
C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Local Settings\Temp
How do I locate the flv though? -
5. Re: NIKE.COM - HOW DID THEY DO THAT?
Newsgroup_User Nov 17, 2006 11:13 AM (in response to epic306)Go to
C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
That's the cache for IE. Then look for an FLV, modified date, location
etc... a good tip is to empty the cache before to load the page so that you
don't have to swift through too much
if you use firefox, it's in ...\Local Settings\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\########.default\Cache but it renames all the
files and you don't have any info of where the file is from or what it is.
There might be some doc to retrieve some files from cache or an extension to
navigation firefox's cache but I never looked into it.
Then to play it you can use FLVPlayer from
http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/article/flv-player-updated or load it
into a flash movie.

Mister_Peanut Nov 17, 2006 1:03 PM (in response to epic306)look at video tutorials in communitymx.com, there is an interesting tutorial on video reflections and video warping for flash. They both use AfterEffects
