Please disable use of Graphics Processor in Lightroom by unchecking the option Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor
Also does that happen with all the Pictures you sync?
Test :-create a new catalog ,import few Pictures and then try to sync.
Let us know if that helps
I am having this exact problem!! I have tried your above comments and they have not worked!
Hi markg ,
Thanks for posting on Adobe forums.
- Which version of Lightroom are you using ?(make sure it is updated)
- Your Operating system.
- Devices you are trying to sync.
I am having the exact same problem! Turning on/off the GPU accelerator did not help either
Did you ever figure out a solution??
Could you answer the same questions I asked in my previous reply?
Thanks for the update.
How many images are you trying to sync at once? Try syncing 10 images and see if that helps.
Also are you syncing all adjustments?
Also I found this Thread you're following . Lightroom 6 freezes when I try to sync photos
Have you tried all suggestions mentioned ?
As soon as I press the "sync" button the program freezes. The pop up adjustments menu does not appear so there is no way to sync one or all adjustments.
The issue persists when syncing more than one or just one photo as well.
Yes, I have tried all suggestions mentioned in my original thread to no avail
Thank you for the suggestion unfortunately it did not work :/
I went ahead and uninstalled/installed LR6 after backing up everything and now the sync button is working. Appreciate all of your help!
Thanks for the update.
Glad to know you got it working again.
I'm having the exact same problem with the sync button, detailed above.
I have uninstalled the lightroom program, and now re-installed it. But the problem persists!
Please let me know what else I can try to sort out this problem?
Please rename the "Sync.lrdata" file. You can find the Sync.lrdata file here.
- On Mac it's at /Users//Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/Sync Data/Sync.lrdata
- On Win it would be at C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom\Caches\Sync Data\Sync.lrdata
Once done Restart Lightroom should try to reconcile your local synced data and the cloud synced data.
Also, uncheck "Use graphics processor" in Preferences>>Performance.
I am having the above issues also... I have restarted pc disabled graphics processor, uninstalled and installed LR NEED HELP I ca not cull/edit my images one by one !!
I had the same issue then eventually found out what was causing the problem. Syncing the photos too quickly caused LR6 to freeze up on me. I had to wait 5-10 seconds before clicking the sync button. It seemed strange to me that LR6 would freeze up like that, since it's such an important program and from Adobe.
A photographer in a photo group I'm in said that he has noticed the earlier versions of LR6 run much faster without the updates. He suggested installing an older version of LR6 (aka "rolling back"). He rolled back to 6.5.1 and found that LR6 run much faster. I did that and so far LR6 has been flowing very well.
To help speed up LR6 even further I work with smart previews only, then use the originals only when ready to export.
I hope this helps because the issues LR6 have are EXTREMELY frustrating! Earlier versions of LR6 without all the updates already installed aren't super easy to find. The one I downloaded was fun this link:
