I just started working for a new company. It is a fairly small company (about 60 total). I am about to undertake my first major project...creating the company's first product catalog. It is going to be somewhere in the range of 150-200 pages when finished.
I don't need help with creative elements in inDesign, however I know almost nothing about my company's products. So my plan was to have me do all of the templating, formatting, etc in inDesign and our Sales manager would supply the copy (product names, descriptions, weights, dimensions, etc.).
My question is, Is there a particular workflow I should be following?
These are my two options as I see it:
1. There's no better way to get to know our products...jump right in and start copying all of the info myself into the document.
2. Get my sales manager a copy of inDesign and supply him the templates.
