Hi so my mac book pro is less than a month old purchased from the apple store and today I have a project that needs ray tracing. After receiving the you need CUDA prompt I installed this to find out I don't seem to have any Nvidia drivers in sight and got an error when rendering. So I have officially removed CUDA from my mac and now back to rendering on my CPU which takes ages! Surely there must be a way of speeding up this process without the need for CUDA. I have researched a lot with out a definative answer. Anyone here with the knowledge please help. Thanks.
Just to add to this after removing the CUDA from my machine, after effects will not use the CPU anymore for the ray tracing graphic... It just renders as a complete black object... It was slow before but still working at least... how can I get it back?
SNarky reply: Don't bother. Just buy a 3D plug-in like Element 3D or Invigorator.
Try doing a clean install of AE. He will have to live with longer render times and less you utilize C4D light that comes with AE now or do as Mylenium? suggested.
