Are you in the USA? International connections to Adobe can sometimes be shaky.
That said, if it won't go, select Connect Later and try again later. It could be that increased traffic is causing problems or even that the Adobe connection was temporarily down.
Obvious question: You do have an always-on internet connection, right?
Have you update the Adobe Application Manager?
What computer operating system is involved?
Are you working with antivirus and firewalls disabled?
