Remove security from an Encrypted file (Certificate) created by myself

I created some PDF files for customers but I want to restrict them to distribute it further, selecting etc..

What I did is setting the Security Method to "Certificate Security", no changes allowed, printing allowed (High Resolution), No content Copying or Extraction Allowed, Content Accessibility Enabled, Encryption Level 256-bit AES. I used my digital ID to encrypt it.

However when I share this with others they cannot even open the file, so I think I have to change the settings. But I cannot even change it anymore. In the Tools-Protection-Encrypt pane the "Remove Security" is greyed out. How can I point Acrobat to my digital ID such it knows I am the one who encrypted it, since otherwise it will not decrypt it.
