I created a book in InDesign CS 5.5 and have also saved the files in IDML format. I am told by the person looking to edit the files that she can't open/edit my files because the version of the software it was created in is too old. I assume she is using the most current version of InDesign. Is this true, or should she be able to open the CS 5.5 file (either the original or the IDML file) and edit it?
No, it's not true. The latest version of Indesign should be able to open any older files. Did she tell you what happens when she tried to open the file?
Thank you for your speedy reply! I assumed this was the case, but did not want to say anything before I checked. I have told her she should probably contact Adobe if she is having trouble opening the file, as I am not sure what happens when she attempts to do so. Thank you again!
