Is there a way to trace an image using Photoshop Sketch? I am accustomed to using a light box and tracing images by hand which I then scan into Photoshop. It would be wonderful if I could trace an image in the Sketch program on the iPad Pro and avoid scanning altogether.
I haven't been able to find a Sketch manual anywhere, and I wanted to find out whether this was possible before purchasing the software for the iPad.
Thank you so much for your time.
Photoshop Sketch has two photo layers and one drawing layer so, yes, you can place an image in an artboard and trace over it.
Here's how to place a photo in a canvas:
1. With a Sketch artboard open, tap on the Photo (landscape) icon in the toolbar.
2. That will open a pop-up menu selection with three layers along with the option to pull an image from On my iPad, Take a Photo, My CC Files, From Market, Adobe Stock.
3. Once you place the image, you can move it to the bottom layer so you can draw over it.
Hope that helps.
Thank you so much for responding to my question - and so quickly! Thank you for the wonderful detailed instructions. I look forward to trying this out!
