In order to add your own audio files to the timeline, you can do the following:
- Drag and drop the audio file into PRE OR
- Goto-> Add Media-> Files & Folders -> Select the audio file

Premiere Elements 14 on what computer operating system?
Are you trying to import iTunes music into your project? If so, it is likely that you will encounter an import error in doing that. Premiere Elements and iTunes music have a history in this regard.
The solution has been to take your iTunes music into iTunes to convert it to the WAV version. The how to for that can be found at the following
If any questions about that how to, please me know. I have used it before.
Once you have the converted file (WAV version) saved to your computer hard drive, then you import it into the Premiere Elements project with its Expert workspace Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you can drag it to the Music Track (called SoundTrack in prior version). I prefer the Expert workspace since you can see better what is happening and thus have more control of the workflow.
Any questions or need clarification on the above, please do not hesitate to ask.
It was not in iTunes but was an MP3 file. Thank you for the help!
This worked. Thank you!
Thanks for the follow up with the good news that you imported your music into your project. Good job.
