Skipping Pages in Document Page Numbering

First, I'll admit I'm still learning all the intricacies of InDesign. So I apologize if this is a "simple" task I'm trying to accomplish.

For ease internally, we've created a complete professional document/proposal in a single INDD file. That includes cover page, cover letter, table of contents, divider tabs and content. We know how to make the content begin on Page 1. But interweaved into our document are "divider tabs/pages" that introduce the next section. And we don't want those divider pages to be included in the page count.

      Does anyone have any advice?
