If you are downloading/importing from an external device (camera or card reader) you should see this type of display in the right-hand panel:
If you click on "Select" you can choose a destination folder on any hard drive connected to your computer. If you are trying to import images that are already on your hard drive You will click on the blue "Browse Computer" bar that you see displayed in the left hand panel.
Pleas choose copy from the import options,
In the top center of the import window, specify how you want to add the photos to the catalog:
Copy As DNG
Copies photos to the folder you choose and converts any camera raw files to the Digital Negative (DNG) format.
Copies the photo files to the folder you choose, including any sidecar files.
Moves the photo files to the folder you choose, including any sidecar files. Files are removed from their current location.
Keeps the photo files in their current location.
Please choose Copy from the above.
Then you will be able to choose the destination
well that will gonna come in the new version of the Lightroom CC.
It seems like you are still using the older version.
May I know what is the version of the Lightroom you are using.
Only trouble is, the new import screen isn't quite as user-friendly. It comes up wanting to add the images:
...And you need to click on that little down arrow to change it to "Copy".
After you change it to "Copy" then you can choose the destination folder. This will all go away when we get the next update. Right now it's rather confusing.
Thanks guys that got it. Appreciate the help.
