Nothing wrong with tethering in Windows.
The D750 works very well on my system- Windows-10, LR-CC 2015.2.1
I suppose that technically you are right. But I did qualify my statement by saying, "If you are using El Capitan."
Seems odd the Adobe would have missed this but I appreciate knowing that a

They didn't miss it. The problem is that Nikon's software development kit (SDK) which Adobe uses to support tethering Nikon cameras is not compatible with El Capitan and Nikon hasn't updated it yet. This is not surprising as Nikon always takes a VERY long time fixing bugs when new Mac or Windows operating system versions come out.
